Hello, there book fiends !
Happy February !
How is the start of 2022 going for you? Already I am behind on my reading goals. I had difficulty getting into reading after devouring A Chorus of Dragons 1-4. [ REVIEWS ] I loved that shit so much, so fucking much. Tried as I might, I just could not get into a story that wasn’t about Kihrin.
I’m finally finished reading The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton & my review is live! [ HERE ]. I am slowly getting back into the swing of things now that I’m over that little slump.
No Reading = More Writing
I have been doing a lot of writing so far this year. More than I ever expected. It seems my latest increase in medication has helped my brain out quite a bit. As a result, I have managed to move on from my typically depressing prose poetry to working on my novel. Yay. Here is a little excerpt, a little teaser if you will.
Chaos tore us apart. He ripped and tore at our essence, like a crazed, wild animal with fresh game. There was nothing graceful about it. Nothing loving in my father’s approach. We were shown no mercy in Chaos’ jealousy-fueled anger, as he tried desperately to destroy us.
I have a lot of work to do before it is ever even close to being finished. I’m at roughly 10,000 words, but honestly, I am super happy with my progress so far. It’s not much, but initially, “I’m going to write the best fucking novel the world has ever seen” had just been one of many manic-induced god-complex fueled insane ideas I had.
Back to books. I picked up a few new books this month and right now there is a poll up on my Insta Stories to pick what one to read next. Make sure you go check it out & vote [ HERE ]. Or drop me a message down below.
The King of Battle & Blood by Scarlett St. Clair OR The Lighthouse Witches by C.J Cooke ?
