Port Macabre #1
Welcome to Port Macabre… where you’ll be presented with a bouquet of bright red flags upon arrival, and the rules of everyday society are sneered at.
Cover and Synopsis
VENGEFUL Gods Cover & Blurb

In this story, there are three beasts and I am their blood debt owed.
The Anguis, a secret society of power-hungry individuals, have long controlled Port Macabre from their seat at Noire House. A place where the wealthy rub shoulders and chase hedonistic pleasures. However, behind the mansion’s facade lies a poisonous, hidden underworld.
With my father now gone, I am the sole heir to Noire House. They wanted his head, instead, these ruthless men settled for taking me.
I thought I had successfully escaped the curse of my bloodline, but I’ve been dragged back into the devious, twisted world of the Anguis. To protect the ones I love, I must allow these men to parade me around and claim me as theirs.
Locked away in their remote, forest-bound fortress, I am nothing more than a possession to control. To them, my life–and future–represents payment in kind and vengeance they’ve been denied.
In the world of the Anguis, death is the only way out, and these men are handsome grim reapers dressed in fine suits.
But as their heated looks and rough, blood-stained hands become more alluring each day, giving in to their games becomes a temptation I can’t avoid. Lines are blurred and longing spills over as I quickly find myself craving their darkness.
I can’t succumb to three beautiful monsters… Can I?

This entire fucking situation calls for an immediate date with my vibrator once he leaves and I can lock the door.

There’s a puddle on the floor where my brain has dripped out my ear.
I started off May reading Noire Moon by Elliott Rose. It piqued my interest enough to move on to the series, Port Macabre. Vengeful Gods is book one in the series.

Vengeful Gods by Elliott Rose Review
Minor Spoilers
Major Spoilers for Noire Moon.
There’s a power void swirling through the shadows of Noire House. It hungers for a new mistress.
Vengeful Gods by Elliott Rose isn’t your everyday disturbing dark romance. It’s a pitch black and deranged romance. Vengeful Gods is the first full length novel from the Port Macabre series-and it might just be my new favorite why choose romance.
Vengeful Gods had me in a choke hold from start to finish.
Port Macabre is home of Noire House, a sex club run by one of five households of the Anguis society. This isn’t just any sex club though, this is where the depraved souls of the Anguis go to act out their darkest fantasies. Noire House provides anything and everything they may need, which includes kidnapping and trafficking men, women and children.
Three of those men happen to be our MMC’s-Thorne, Ky and Ven. All adults now, they have been diligently working at dismantling the trafficking rings run by Noire House. Our FMC, Foxglove grew up under the thumb of her father and head of Noire House, Andreas. Thankfully, she is one of very few that ever escapes the society’s clutches. When her father dies, Fox ends up back in the world she was desperate to escape when she is drugged and kidnapped by our MMC’s. Fox is the heir to Noire House, and they need her power to finish dismantling her father’s trafficking network.
Each of these pricks are House members. Untouchable. Living and existing in a secret world only a few know about.
Vengeful Gods is written in a multi pov style, rotating between all four main characters. I loved it. Multi pov stories are my jam. I like to know what all the characters are thinking and feeling- the inner turmoil each character is going through as they navigate their way through whatever predicament the author has dreamt up . Vengeful Gods is no exception. We continuously rotate between Fox, Thorne, Ky & Ven’s perspectives giving us a well rounded and fleshed out story. Particularly when it came to the sex scenes.
There is a lot of sex happening in Vengeful Gods. Is it the most depraved sex? No-it’s on the tamer side. However, this is about a polyamorous relationship between all four main characters. Prior to Fox joining the party, Ky and Ven were lovers who occasionally would share a woman between them. Thorne however, did not participate in their extracurricular activities. When Fox enters their lives, all that goes out the window and eventually, it’s just one big happy family.
I really liked Rose’s characters, they were damaged and traumatised from years of abuse. Willing to do whatever it took to prevent others from the same fate. I also enjoyed this a lot more than Noire Moon. It was nice to see Poe, our FMC from Noire Moon pop up in Vengeful Gods though. It is my understanding that book two, Macabre Gods is about her. I am looking forward to continuing her story as well as Fox, Thorne, Ky and Ven’s in Foxglove, Thorne, Kyron, Raven.
Quotes
Vengeful Gods Quotes
Too bad she’s a pretty toy about to be broken. Being the heir to Noire House is about to cost this girl her life.
I was never anything more than a piece of flesh for my father to bargain and trade with- a jewel in his crown of bloodied bones.
But I see them for what they truly are. Grim Reapers, ready to claim their next soul.
Like I say, no one prepares you for that moment some insignificant detail threatens to drown you in a tsunami of terrifying memories.
There’s a mess of blood and split skin and broken teeth where his face should be.
His soul is stained, and it shows in the deeply carved lines around his eyes.
These men are going to be the goddamn end of me.
The gritty reality is that we’ve been raised by the foulest of the foul, and our insides are rotten.
Bonfire sparks fly through my veins where blood used to be.
