In this story, there are three beasts and I am their initiate.
The Anguis, a secret society of power-hungry individuals, have long controlled Port Macabre from their seat at Noire House. A place where the wealthy rub shoulders and chase hedonistic pleasures. However, behind the mansion’s facade lies a poisonous, hidden underworld.
I spent one night at their mercy. An invitation to their world that I couldn’t deny, turned out to be the key to bringing my darkest fantasies to life.
They said they would come for me, but months have dragged on with no word. I’ve been forced to return to the mundane life I existed in before they gave me a glimpse of something forbidden and enticing.
What am I supposed to do, when the twisted world of the Anguis unexpectedly comes calling… and the men I thought I could trust turn out to be liars?
Suddenly, I am no better than an unwilling initiate to their world. A pawn taken by force. Someone’s pet, claimed without warning.
In this sick and twisted world, I’m now someone’s possession and have been sucked into the Anguis’ customs. I am marked to be taught how to serve those who have laid claim to my future. One wrong move and my new masters hiding in the shadows might choose to end my life at any moment.
But as my three captors slowly reveal their individual agendas—as the proximity of being under their watchful gaze starts to break down my defenses—the greatest danger comes from falling for the men who stole my life while following orders.
Lines are crossed and desire spirals as I quickly find myself seeking out their wickedness.
I can’t succumb to three bloodstained captors… Can I?

Review
Macabre Gods by Elliott Rose
Little Flower
Three strangers, all dressed in suits, with their faces concealed by skull masks. Gold. Copper. Crimson. The only identifiers I had, other than their hands and eyes and hair. Sapphire blue. Burning hazel embers. Dark pools that sucked me deep. Three sets of eyes that watched me enter into their depravity.

Macabre Gods by Elliott Rose Review
Minor Spoilers
Major Spoilers for Noire Moon & Vengeful Gods
We don’t kink shame here at Noire House.
The second book in Elliott Rose’s Port Macabre series takes us back in time prior to the events in Vengeful Gods. Macabre Gods is a direct continuation of the prequel novella Noire Moon. Our dear Poe, the FMC first introduced in Noire Moon, is back to her mundane everyday life after a wild night with three masked men at Noire House.
Unbeknownst to Poe, her initiation to the Anguis society had begun.
Poe is pulled back into the disturbing world of The Anguis when she is drugged and kidnapped. Very reminiscent of Vengeful Gods and how Fox is sucked back into the society. Unlike Fox though, Poe is continuously drugged for weeks on end until she is finally rescued by her three masked men.
Hawke. Angel. Grey.
I’ve fought too long and hard and shed too many pieces of my soul in order to get this close.
Our three MMCs are all members of The Anguis, and like their counterparts in Vengeful Gods, they are all working diligently to bring down the trafficking rings within the organization. The men of Port Macabre were raised and abused within the society, vowing to put an end to the cycle of abuse. Their purpose in life, saving as many souls as they can from the same fate they endured.
She gives me that same glare from the night of the auction, when she finally figured it all out. That we weren’t some little fantasy, we were exactly the calculating bastards we’d been required to be for so long I don’t know any other goddamn way to exist.
Plot wise, I preferred what was happening in Vengeful Gods. The characters were more involved and aware of what was happening to them. In Macabre Gods, they are all in the dark. Hawke, Grey and Angel had been tasked with Poe’s first initiation into the Anguis-her night at Noire House. But even our leading men are unsure why Poe is so important. Or who within the Anguis wants her initiated.
When it comes to the characters of Port Macabre, I loved them all in their own ways. The relationships they’ve built with each other and the love they all share is beautiful.
The writing across the entire series is consistent. Macabre Gods has some hints of BDSM but I wish there had been more. It also pushes the envelope a bit further with some knife play. Ultimately I feel Vengeful Gods is the spicier book.
Quotes
Macabre Gods Quotes
She’s a sickness…and I don’t know if I’ll ever find the cure. Or desire to discover one at all.
She doesn’t know how much I’ve violated every part of her existence, and there’s a black fucking hole in my chest filled with dread for the day she eventually finds out and gives me those brown eyes brimming with disgust.
This is hell and heaven and ultimately pure torture I don’t want to ever have to walk away from.
Goddamn, if she doesn’t look like the kind of creature that could ruin us all.
Turns out, you can have an unexpected threesome in the morning, and have to attend a black-tie event surrounded by secret society members at a sex club in the evening.
Yes, all I had to do was spank this girl’s ass, and she shattered in my lap.
Heat flows between the four of us in a way that feels so deeply familiar. The proximity of us all is a wicked, tantalizing sensation.
