Farewell Lilydale Foundation Center… home of our final resting place.
We almost had them. But we should have known they wouldn’t play fair. It was a trap, another twisted game to use us.
As war continues, we’re left with no option but to fight. We can’t afford to give up now.
They fail to realize one thing though. People become dangerous when they have something to lose. And they become downright unhinged when they have nothing left except the promise of revenge.
This is how it ends. Broken savages. Haunted memories. It all comes down to this. We fight for our survival or die trying.
But either way, there’s no turning back now.
In death, we thrive.

Exile by Steph Macca Review
Her vibrant light choked me, wrapping around my black heart like barbed wire, ripping me apart, until finally, she cracked me wide open.
Exile is the final installment of Steph Macca’s Dance With My Demons dark why choose asylum romance. And this should come as no surprise, but I loved it. Following the formula set forth in the previous books, Exile picks up immediately after the Ravage ends. Honestly, one of the things I appreciated most about Exile, was the series recap at the start. In my opinion, more authors should be doing this.
The writing and narration across the Dance With My Demons series has been consistent. The full cast duet narration is engaging and immersive. The narrators could read me the yellow pages and I’d be cool with it. I did find that there was less verbal dialogue between characters this time around and more internal dialogue. Listen, I get it, Avery has a lot of trauma to unpack. They all do. But the pacing did suffer a bit because of all the inner dialogue, specifically with Avery.
At the end of the series, Grey is still my favorite character. It’s a very close race though, with Theo coming in second place. Damon grew on me as the series progressed, but he’s just not my favorite. I did find him to be more front and center in Exile. Which tracks, there’s a lot of family drama happening and his dad is the big bad of the series. Where Exile was heavy on Damon, it was lacking in the Theo department. Which also fits. From the start, Theo has been steadfast on not only who he is, but who he will be to Avery. Damon and Grey both had to come to terms with being one big happily deranged family.
Dance With My Demons does end in a HEA. And now that the psychopaths have taken over the asylum, there will be a spin-off series. Masquerade With My Monsters will take place in the same universe as Dance With My Demons. Book One, Depraved, will be coming out later this year.
