Two years after escaping the men who tried to destroy my life, I’ve transformed myself into something lethal.
While I train my body into a weapon, Tyler disappears into the world of coding and surveillance, learning how to track the monsters who hide in plain sight. Together, we move through the shadows hunting traffickers, predators, and killers, each mission sharpening us for the one thing I’ve been preparing for all along.
Revenge.
The men responsible are still out there.
They just don’t know I’m coming for them.

Quick note: I am currently part of Krista Turner Clark’s permanent arc team. I received an eARC of Out for Blood for review purposes. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.
Minor Spoilers
Major Spoilers for Frat Row
The past doesn’t stay buried.
It waits.
And then it comes back for blood.
Out for Blood by Krista Turner Clark is the second book in the pitch black romance trilogy, Frat Row. When I say pitch black, I mean it. Especially when it comes to the first book. Personally, I did find Out for Blood to be less disturbing. In Frat Row, we witness horrific acts happening to the fmc through her eyes as they happen to her. What makes Out for Blood less disturbing in my opinion is simply less sexual assault. However, there is a lot of murder going on. After reading Frat Row last year, my only complaint was Cassidy not getting the revenge she rightfully deserved after the ordeal she went through. I needed the frat and the secret society to suffer the worst consequences imaginable. I was ecstatic when Krista announced she was expanding Frat Row into a trilogy and giving us exactly that. Out for Blood is the beginning of Cassidy’s revenge arc.
No one saves you.
You claw your own way back with bleeding hands and sheer will
It has been two years since the events of Frat Row. Cassidy could have easily let what happened define and destroy her. Instead she has rebuilt and molded herself into a lethal weapon vowing to dismantle the trafficking ring built by the secret society & frat that abducted her. Cassidy & Tyler spend two years training and strengthening not just their bodies but their minds as well. I’m not talking a little strength training and therapy either. They have armed themselves with the necessary tactical and weapon training needed to hunt and dispose of their prey. Tyler learns all the necessary skills required to infiltrate and track traffickers via the dark web. An entire operation is built with the sole focus of rescuing women and girls from the hands of predators. Logistically, two years seems a little short to build the cash reserves, organization and develop the required skills but this is fiction. It is what it is.
Everyone deserves a person that will sit with them in the dark and be their strength even when they are falling apart.
I loved how much Tyler stepped up in Out for Blood. I wasn’t a huge fan of him in Frat Row. I felt his character left a lot to be desired. That said, the majority of Frat Row was from Cassidy’s perspective. Out for Blood is more evenly balanced and Tyler really gets his chance to shine. In Frat Row he’s mostly hanging out in the background looking for Cassidy. Honestly, he was not doing that great of a job at it either. In the end, Tyler just kind of stumbles upon Cassidy. He wasn’t actively out there trying to find or rescue her. He wanted to find her sure but he didn’t really have it in him. Tyler wasn’t the walking, talking, red flag flying book boyfriend you normally find in dark romance. The events of Frat Row changed him too though and he really grows as a character. While Cassidy doesn’t need someone else to burn the world for her, he’s right there beside her while she does it herself.
I really enjoyed Out for Blood. I thought it was fantastic. Krista’s writing is phenomenal. However, if you are looking for deep, complex characters healing from trauma, you’re not really going to get that. We don’t actually witness the growth and healing Cassidy and Tyler go through. Out for Blood is a plot driven story and that plot is great. Tyler uses his skills to find sex traffickers and Cassidy uses hers to torture and kill them. Practice makes perfect and at the end of Out for Blood Cassidy feels prepared enough to finally go after her real targets.
I survived, and that was their first mistake.
They created me, they should fear what I’ve become.
Alpha Chi thought they broke me. They didn’t.
They built something far worse that they’ll never be able to stop.
What they really did was create their own downfall.
I’m looking forward to the final installment in the Frat Row Trilogy. After the events of Frat Row our duo booked a one way ticket to Turks & Caicos. That’s where they have been this whole time. Now that they are done with the little fish in their backyard, it’s time to go home. I can’t wait to see what impact this has on Cassidy. It’s one thing to survive and thrive in the absence of your triggers. Tyler spent a lot of time in Out for Blood walking and talking Cassidy back from the edge. Will he be able to keep Cassidy grounded and pull her back from the dark in Paid in Blood? What compromising positions will Cassidy stumble upon her targets? & what creative ways will she kill them? Because I’ll tell you one thing, Turner Clark is creative.
