Virgin FMCs in Dark Romance, Romantasy & Fantasy
Welcome to my personal Master List of Virgin FMCs
Here you will find books I have read containing the virgin fmc trope. This is an accidental trope for me. Unsurprisingly, it’s in a lot of college romances. Seeing as I enjoy a good dark college romance, I accidentally find myself consuming books with virgin main characters and I thought I would share them with you. This will be an ever evolving list so make sure to bookmark it for future reference.

Dark College Romance with Virgin Fmcs

L.O.R.D.S by Shantel Tessier
Hands down, LORDS by Shantel Tessier, is my favorite dark college romance. Out of the seven books currently published, four contain a virgin fmc. Any guesses on who the mmc of book eight will be? Personally, I think Adam but I couldn’t even begin to guess who the fmc will be. Someone new, but I don’t think she will be a virgin. We shall find out.
Audio Alert: I highly recommend listening to this series if you add it to your tbr.
Dark Romance Stand alone Books with Virgin Fmcs

Listen, I’m not going to lie, all of these books were a bit of a let down.
I didn’t like the characters in Skin of a Sinner. They were too immature for me and because of that I didn’t enjoy the plot. I will read something else by Avina St. Graves. Maybe it’s just that book and those characters.
That Sik Luv just left me with a bad taste in my mouth. An age gap with MMCs who are waiting for the virgin FMC to turn of age is not for me. Especially when playing real fast and lose with what is and isn’t consensual-non-consent.
That Sik Luv Review: Love, Obsession, and Trauma
Heartless Heathens in particular I thought had the most potential out of the trio but it fell flat for me. The spice was fire but I would have liked more plot. The dystopian & secret society elements had loads of potential but it had absolutely nothing to do with anything.
Dark Bully Romance Series with Virgin Fmcs

Oakmount Elite by J.L. Beck
I am currently in the middle of Oakmount Elite by J.L. Beck and even though I haven’t finished it yet, I highly recommend it. Oakmount Elite is an interconnected series currently made up of three duets and one standalone. The Wallflower & The Wildflower should be read together as a duet. The Prey & The Predator should also be read together as a duet. You do not have to read both duets.
I’ll be starting The Misfit soon but I will be holding off on The Psychopaths & The Reckoning until the audio for The Reckoning is released. The duets end on cliffhangers and I am not putting myself through that.
Audio Alert: I highly recommend listening to this series if you add it to your tbr.
Dark Why Choose Romance Series with a Virgin Fmc

Dead Girls Club by L.M. Ramirez
The Dead Girls Club by L.M. Ramirez is a incomplete series with a secret society and university setting. The second book was released in October 2024 and I am unaware of when the third book will be released.

Rayne-Moore University Duet by Ruby M. Darling
The Rayne-Moore University Duet is one of my all time favorite duets. The fmc is amazing, one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure to read about. It is also a college romance with a secret society. Clearly I have a thing with that genre mashup. Ruby M. Darling has expanded on Rayne-Moore University with a novella and an interconnected duet, Duchess & Devils that I have yet to read.
Audio Alert: I highly recommend listening to this series if you add it to your tbr.
Dark Fantasy Romance Series with a Virgin Fmc

Jaga & the Devil by Layla Fae
Layla Fae’s Jaga & the Devil series is top tier dark fantasy. The third book, Devil’s Dance, didn’t quite meet my expectations, but the series as a whole is a must read. Fair warning, the first two books end on cliffhangers so clear your tbr.

Split or Swallow by Lindsay Straube
First of all, for the longest fucking time I called this series Spit or Swallow. And really, it could have been. Unfortunately, I am dnf’ing Lindsay Straube’s Split or Swallow series. I am not a love triangle bookworm and there’s not enough plot to keep me interested. The spice is fire tho.
Dark Fantasy Romance Standalone with a Virgin Fmc

King’s Kiss by Beck Michaels
I love Beck Michaels and in my opinion, King’s Kiss is her best work to date. Rune holds the number one spot for Shadow Daddy over here. If you read one thing from Michaels let it be this. But I highly recommend reading both the Chronicles of Urn series and Guardians of the Maiden, although GOTM is young/new adult and not dark.
